Massachusetts College of Art and Design

Organization: Massachusetts College of Art and Design. MassArt is the nation's first independent public college of art and design and is a leading school of art and design in the United States.

Challenge: 1) Redesign MassArt.edu and its sister site, Inside MassArt (the last redesign had been around 2002). 2) Distribute authorship across campus via a content management system (which had already been selected prior to my arrival).

Solution: A design firm was chosen based on a response to an RFP and an interview. The project began in October 2007 and the sites launched in August 2008.

Developers: Tank Design (design firm), Ingeniux (content management system vendor), Story and Structure (information architect), Saul Baizman (project manager).

Awards/honors: the American Marketers Association award for best higher education Internet/web site (MassArt.edu), October 2009.
